In a regional high street firm with three local offices, I was asked to help improve communication and the sharing of information between firm personnel. Working with the managing partner and digital marketing managing, I helped design and implement the firm’s intranet portal. All the firm’s policies and procedures and department forms were loaded to the site, as well as links to external websites including feeds from newspapers and legal press etc. Notifications were sent to users when new documents or new versions of existing documents were loaded to the site. Read receipt notifications could be set up on documents or messages to help aid compliance. There was also an instant messenger tool which helped drive down unnecessary internal email traffic. The intranet vastly improved information sharing and communication across the firm.
